Heartbreaking

I watched the Eagles Sydney game today. While I admit that it was a fucking fantastic game, it was an absolutely heartbreaking result for me. Im not ready to give up on our flag chances just yet though. Adelaide at AAMI would be a winnable match if we can make it to the Preliminary Final. having Kerr back in the team would make a huge difference as well I reckon.

Nonetheless, hate this fuckin game.

I thought that this was the best avenue to advertise my plans for this weekend given that everyone reads this blog at least 3 times a day.

I realised a few weeks ago that I havent watched a single game of footy this year. Last year, I used to download them 24 hours after a game had finished, but the connection in my new house is not quite as good.

Anyway, Im going to make a genuine effort to watch all 4 finals this weekend but at the very least, I want to see the Eagles and Dockers games. As a result, I will not be checking emails, reading blogs, using internet, or checking text messages from Friday night (Perth time) to Monday morning.

Im sure that regardless of my efforts, a Ben or a Jonesy will succeed in ruining it for me.

Two of my roommates moved out today to go travelling around New Zealand. Pretty much everything in the house was theirs, so when I went downstairs tonight to make dinner, I was completely stuffed - no cutlery, no pots, no oven trays, no pans, no plates, no glasses.

I took comfort from the fact that at the very least, I could have a beer dinner. Then I realised that I no longer had a bottle opener.

What is it about people that makes them feel as though they have to blurt out their problems/issues to people they dont know and who dont care. I bought a pizza tonight at work and had to wait 5 minutes for it to cook. In that time, the girl behind the counter talked at me CONSTANTLY without me saying a single word. Even when she gave me my pizza, she kept going on and on about some horse and continued to talk even as i was walking away from her.

To make things worse, the "Hawaiian" pizza had only 4 pieces of pineapple.........not on one slice, but on the entire pizza.

I hate people.

Im frequently amazed at how long Kevin Sheedy has managed to stay coaching Essendon. I think its incredible that he is considering recruiting Jason Akermanis next year. Essendon are sitting 2nd bottom on the ladder because they have traded away their good draft picks in recent years for old "established" players that have contributed little to the team. I reckon they have probably done it more than the Roos have.

I also think its stupid that he is going to play Dean Rioli in the last few games this year just so that he can reach 100 career games. Fair enough if it was 300 or even 200 games but so many players reach 100 games nowadays that it means very little. Dean Rioli is a fat, slow, lazy player who has only ever been rated by Essendon. Why would they care about letting him get to 100 games? Only Kevin Sheedy can answer that.

I know Richard will laugh at this but I suspect Freo might be a chance at making the Grand Final. They have shown that they are capable of beating Adelaide at AAMI stadium, and I have no doubt that they (on their day) are capable of beating West Coast at Subiaco.

I reckon this is shaping out to be a very interesting finals series.

........if the Eagles dont win the flag this year, then by far and away my second choice would be St. Kilda. They (along with Carlton) have always been my favourite Victorian side, and I reckon it would be a hugely fitting end to the career of one of the all-time greats in Robert Harvey.

Nevertheless, on that one day in September, the Saints will be crushed by West Coast.

By the way, has anyone seen Fraser Gehrig's hair recently? Bald on top and long at the back in what is more accurately described as boglocks than a mullet. I couldnt stop laughing every time I saw him with the ball.

Well Tone, you said that you liked my blog better when I was outraged, and I knew it wouldnt be long until something ticked me off again. Ive just read this article on The West Australian website - http://www.thewest.com.au/20050822/sport/tw-sport-home-sto132030.html. Im absolutely outraged!

Im quite happy to accept that there are some doubts over the Eagles' ability to win in Melbourne, and therefore doubts over their ability to win the flag. Having said that though, you have to realise that the Eagles have still won 6 games away from Perth already this year (3 of those in Melbourne).

But for Andrew Bews (a former Geelong player) to then go on and say that Fremantle could be a "finals X-factor" is absolutely outrageous. "SAD" (Suddenly A Docker) syndrome is obviously alive and well after Friday night's win over a hopelessly undermanned St.Kilda. I will put money down that Fremantle wont have any influence on the finals this year (if they even get there, which I doubt - they will lose to Port but still might fall in if Essendon beats Melbourne, which is possible).

Andrew Bews has jumped on the Dockers bandwagon after one win, and is still happy to right-off the mighty West Coast despite their stellar year and despite him witnessing first-hand (twice) what it is like to be crushed by the Eagles in Grand Finals in Melbourne. You are an absolute disgrace!

I really am quite an irritable young man.

Sleep Walking

Some of you may have heard that when I first moved into my place in Cambridge, I slept walk (this spelling is correct in the same way that "spat roast" is) on 2 of the first 5 nights into my female housemates' rooms (both of them (one of them I remembered (and the other one I had a conversation with the girl (who was apparently naked at the time (and had incidentally spewed on her carpet that night))))). Cool even I dont really understand that sentence.

Anyway, last weekend, Clare (one of the female housemates) had a party here to celebrate her birthday. Unfortunately, I missed most of the party because I was working from 11pm to 9am. I was also quite pissed off to find someone who I didnt know in my bed when I got home. On hearing the various anecdotes from the party, I found out that one of the guys (staying over) at the party started sleep walking at about 7am. Apparently, he walked into Riyan's room (another of my housemates) who was in bed with his girlfriend at the time.

Riyan reckons that he woke up to find the sleep walker - lets call him Belvedere - standing at his doorway completely naked, and "fiddling" with his little (or not so little) Belvedere. When Riyan asked him what he was doing, apparently Belvedere started walking towards his bed, and lifted up Riyan's covers as if to get into bed with him. As you can imagine, this was met with much shouting and anguish, at which point Belvedere woke up (and sheepishly returned from whence he came).

Duncan (my other housemate) has known Belvedere for quite some time, and reckons that Belvedere once came into his room in similar circumstances (sleep walking naked after a party). Apparently when Duncan asked him on that occasion what he was doing, Belvedere started motioning as if he was about to chuck a slash on Duncan's bed.

I think its fair to say that Belvedere has outdone me.

When Richard handed over the reigns of Captain Outrage to its rightful owner, he had to tell me how to log on. In the process of doing so, I had my greatest idea...........EVAAAAAAA. I remembered that Richard always used the word "rooboy" as his password for stuff (except important things like banking (although I have never tested that out to see if it is true (that has just given me a great idea (cool, I just used 4 parentheses)))) and decided to have a crack at hijacking his blog. I thought it was too good an idea to be true, so was incredibly pleased with myself when it worked.

Unfortunately, Richard managed to use the "forgotten password" link to break back into his (amazingly crap and boring) blog. Its a real shame because I had spent the majority of this afternoon thinking up some great ideas for controversial blog entries from "Richard". The one entry that I did manage to get in was about him revealing a relationship that he had been in for the last couple of months, and that since then, he was so happy with life. I hear you all saying to yourselves that that doesnt sound like a particularly interesting or controversial entry, but therein lies the beauty of it. You would have all believed it!

Damn you Richard. I hereby dub thee "Captain Spoil-Sport".

In other news I am currently working nights so am suffering a little from lack of sleep. I'm working in respiratory diseases at the moment which is very interesting.
